Born in Essex in 1974, Victoria Adams knew she wanted to be famous at an early age after watching 80s musical flick Fame. At 20 years old, the young and ambitious drama school graduate answered an advertisement in1993 which required girls who were "street smart, extrovert, ambitious and able to sing and dance" she joined the then near unknown girl group, The Spice Girls. One of the most phenomenally successful bands to come out of the 90s ‘Cool Britannia’ era, The Spice Girls were famous for each band member having a defined personal style, with Victoria being awarded the ‘Posh’ status and her wardrobe consisting of little black dresses, high heels and designer outfits.
After the band split, Victoria went her own way focussing on her natural flair and love for fashion and in 2004 Victoria Beckham designed a limited-edition fashion line for denim designer brand, Rock & Republic called VB Rocks. Consisting mainly of embellished jeans with premium materials and fit, the range was a huge success. In 2006 Victoria Beckham’s recognition as a style icon was even more apparent as she was asked to walked the runway for Roberto Cavalli at Milan Fashion Week and in the same year she was invited to act as editor for Harpers Bazaar, where she styled Hollywood starlet and friend, Katie Holmes for a main fashion shoot featured in the magazine. As well as this she was appointed as UK brand ambassador for Italian fashion house, Dolce and Gabbana and within this year she also launched her own eyewear range, DVB Eyewear. The perfect synergy, eyewear design was evidently something that came naturally to this modern day icon and avid collector of vintage eyewear, who when interviewed for CNN remarked ‘I collect vintage Gucci’s and Carrera’s - they can make virtually any outfit look cool."
This year, Victoria Beckham’s eyewear collection re emerges with a style shake up, resulting a new lease of life. An eclectic mix of glamour-inducing oversized frames and luxuriously textured acetates resulting in a highly desirable and premium collection. Continuity across the range is achieved through subtle inlays and innovative branding techniques that includes engraving and diamond acetate temple tips. The iconic V symbol is featured across all frame within the Victoria Beckham eyewear range. Hand crafted, assembled and polished in the Cutler & Gross workshop in Italy, the directional range of eyewear holds a rare artisanal quality and timelessness.
