I'm Still HereThe Tom Ford Jack took a key role in the film 'I'm Still Here' which showed the supposed demise of Hollywood actor Joaquin Phoenix as he announced retirement from acting in 2008 to embarks on a career as a rapper.
Joaquin's smooth appearance is the first thing that goes down the pan as he piles on pounds, gets scruffy and beardy, not to mention weirdy. More often than not the actor was in a brooding black dishevelled suit or all out veg out sofa garb, but he was rarely seen without this Tom Ford sunglass that became trademark on the movies promotional poster, throughout the film and the antics surrounding it.
It all came out in what must have been a rather dirty wash and Joaquin along with director Casey Affleck revealed it all to have been an experiment exploring the concept and limits of celebrity in all the name of art.
The Tom Ford Jacks became something of a mask or piece of costume for the actor as he freaked out fellow professionals, fans and the public in his wake. The Jacks were worn in the David Letterman interview that saw Phoenix create some heavy silences and move the interviewer to saying 'I'm sorry you couldn't be here tonight'. When Letterman pulled him up on his gum chewing, Phoenix sticks it underneath his desk.
During those wild times his Jacks as well as his rep took a battering. Phoenix repairs a broken arm with some tape and carries on where he left off. This is how we knew it could not have been for real; no matter how bad it gets you just wouldn't treat your Jacks like that.
